SONOGRAPHY
Sonography is a diagnostic medical procedure that uses sound waves (ultrasound) to produce dynamic visual images of organs, tissues or blood flow inside the body.
The technology is similar to that used by sonar and radar, which help the military detect planes and ships. An ultrasound allows your doctor to see problems with organs, vessels, and tissues without needing to make an incision.
Unlike other imaging techniques, ultrasound uses no radiation. For this reason, it’s the preferred method for viewing a developing fetus during pregnancy.
Advanced Speckle Reduction Imaging ( SRI ) – helps heighten the visibility of organs and lesions with high – definition contrast resolution that suppresses speckle artifact while maintaining true tissue architecture.
CrossXBeam CRI – helps enhance tissue and border differentiation with an innovative, real – time spatial compounding acquisition and processing technique. HD – Flow – uses a bi-directional Doppler feature to help achieve a more sensitive vascular study and reduce overwriting.
PREPARATION
01.4 hours fasting for sonography: Sono Abdomen & Pelvis, renal doppler.
02. Non fasting sonography: Sono obstetrics, Sono pelvis, Sono k.U.B, Sono softtissue, color doppler, Sono scrotum.
03. Full urinary bladder required for: Sono Abdomen & Pelvis, sono K.U.B.
04. For admitted patients or for whichever point if their dr. has asked not to drink water or patient is unable to drink water, then no need to drink water.
