Dr. Namrata Singal Sawant is Director, Senior Breast & Women's Imaging Consultant Radiologist at Vcare Imaging Diagnostic Center in Mumbai, with 17 years of experience. She holds an M.B.B.S., M.D. in Radiodiagnosis, and a Fellowship in Breast Imaging(US), specializing in advanced techniques like MRI, Mammography, High-resolution Sonography, Sonography-guided Needle Core Biopsies, and Wire Localization.
A key member of prestigious medical associations such as the Breast Imaging Society of India (BISI) and the Indian Radiological & Imaging Association (IRIA), Dr. Sawant’s work has contributed significantly to improving breast cancer detection and diagnosis in India. Her extensive experience also includes gynecological imaging and antenatal sonographies, particularly focused on anomaly scanning to detect prenatal developmental issues early on.
Dr. Sawant’s dedication to education and community health is a noteworthy aspect of her career. She has taken numerous lectures on breast radiology, educating fellow doctors and breast radiologists not only in Mumbai but also on a national level. Additionally, she has conducted teaching sessions for breast fellows, DNB students, and has been invited to present at national conferences. A passionate advocate for early breast cancer detection, Dr. Sawant has collaborated with Fujifilm India to run camps offering early detection services for underprivileged women. Her efforts are not limited to clinical practice—she has contributed to academic literature, authoring a chapter in a book on breast cancer imaging. This book was launched by Sonali Bendre, a breast cancer survivor and ambassador for the FujiFilm breast cancer campaign, ‘Find it Early, Fight it Early,’ further cementing Dr. Sawant’s influence in the field.
